Preparation for Audition 

Research the Role

• Research the Character and Story: Understand the character's background, motivations, and relationships within the story. This includes studying the script, the time period, and any relevant social or historical context.
• Emotional and Physical Preparation: Actors often draw from personal experiences or emotional exercises to connect with their character’s feelings. Physical preparation might include learning new skills, adjusting body language, or altering their appearance to fit the role.

Prepare Your  Vocal Piece

• Match Your Vocal Range and Strengths: Select a song that fits comfortably within your vocal range and highlights your strengths, whether it's belting, high notes, or agility. Avoid songs that push you to areas where your voice isn't as strong.
• Consider the Audition Context: Tailor your song choice to the genre or style of the production or audition. For example, if auditioning for a musical, pick a song that aligns with the show's tone or the character you're auditioning for. However, avoid choosing songs directly from the show unless specifically requested.
• Showcase Personality and Storytelling: Pick a song that allows you to connect emotionally and tell a story through your performance. It should showcase not just your vocal abilities but also your acting and expressiveness, engaging the audience with your interpretation.

 Confident & Prepared

• Bring Confidence and Adaptability: Enter the room with confidence, ready to engage with the casting directors or auditors. Be adaptable, as you may be asked to perform adjustments on the spot. Show that you can take direction well.

​For the role of Nick Piazza actors will need to submit a video of a one minute monologue and perform the song "I Wanna Make Magic" from Fame Jr. use the link to get access to the song.  


For participation in the chorus singers will need to submit a video performing "Hard Work" (Part 1, 2, or 3) use the link to get access to the song.
